What is The Woman In Black about?

A lawyer obsessed with a curse that he believes has been cast over him and his family by the spectre of a Woman in Black, engages a sceptical young actor to help him tell his terrifying story and exorcise the fear that grips his soul. It all begins innocently enough, but then, as they reach further into his darkest memories, they find themselves caught up in a world of eerie marshes and moaning winds.

How Does It Work

You will receive a confirmation email. 

If you have chosen collect at box office please print the confirmation and bring on the day, a minimum of 30 minutes before the performance start time.

If you have chosen to receive tickets by post, tickets are send closer to the performance time and can arrive up to 72 hours before the performance date.

Suitable For Children

The Woman in Black is suitable for children aged 8 and over, under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. Children aged under 5 will not be admitted to the Fortune Theatre.

    Really Great plot and cast. I was on the edge of my seat for much of the show.

    I had a really great time. The woman in black is one of my favourite books and I think the playwright has found a very clever way to adapt it for the stage. The actors were great and the play manages to be both funny and scary. SPOILER ALERT My only complaint is that the woman in black's face should have stayed under a veil as the make-up or mask was a little ridiculous to my taste: the less you show, the scarier it is...
