How to Choose Paper for Printing

• Paper weight: Paper weight is measured in grams per square metre (GSM). The higher the GSM, the thicker and more opaque the paper will be. For general printing, approximately 80 GSM paper is a good choice. For printing photos, 100 GSM or higher paper is recommended.


• Paper finish: The finish of paper refers to its surface texture. There are three main types of paper finishes.


• Inkjet paper: This paper is designed for inkjet printers. It is typically made from a slightly textured paper that helps the ink to absorb evenly.


• Laser paper: This paper is designed for laser printers. It is typically made from a smooth, coated paper that helps the ink to dry quickly and evenly.

Once you have considered these factors, you can start shopping for paper. When you are shopping, be sure to read the product descriptions carefully to make sure that you are getting the right type of paper for your needs.

What kind of paper do you use for printers?

• Recycled paper

  : This paper is made from post-consumer waste and is a great way to save the environment. It is typically made from a smooth, coated paper that is similar to laser printer paper.
