Starting tomorrow, the Baby Loss Awareness Week runs from 9-15 October. Led by Sands, BLAW aims to raise awareness about pregnancy and baby loss in the UK.

Throughout the week, bereaved parents, along with their family and friends, can unite across the world to commemorate the lives of babies who died during pregnancy, birth or in infancy.

With Sands at the forefront, the Baby Loss Awareness Alliance is a collaboration of more than 70 charities who are working together to drive improvements in policy, bereavement care and support for those affected by the death of a baby, whilst also breaking the taboo surrounding the death of babies and infants.

BLAW 2020 is supported by the Natwest Group. In partnership with Sands, they will host a series of live panel discussions throughout the week. The schedule for the live panels are:

  • Friday 9th October – Introducing Baby Loss Awareness Week
  • Monday 12th October – Bereavement in the Workplace
  • Tuesday 13th October – Culture, Ethnicity and Religion
  • Wednesday 14th October – Baby Loss, Inclusion and LGBTQ+
  • Thursday 15th October – Remembrance and Wave of Light
